What can science do for Czech queer people? And is it capable of doing so? Andrea Stašek (INPSY, FSS MU, Q-Hub) reflects on the current state of things.

Czech research of queer people‘s health is young and a bit clumsy – much like Bambi. It is hindered by the same issues as other fields: political disinterest, lack of funding, gatekeeping, and pragocentrism. Only enthusiasts prevail, but this alone is insufficient for quality findings. How can we overcome this? Andrea Stašek (Psychology Research Institute, FSS MU; Q-Hub) will provide an overview of the current state of queer psychology and discuss on what science can do for the queer population.
